Why you'll love it

One jug steams and blends, so there is one thing to wash, not three. You make it yourself, so you know exactly what goes into every spoonful.

How to look after it

A quick rinse of the jug after each use keeps it ready for the next meal.

How it works

How it works in your home

Tired of losing every evening to one tiny meal?

Tired of losing every evening to one tiny meal?

You steam veggies in a pot, tip them into a blender, scrape them into a bowl, then face three dirty things in the sink after one tiny meal. Half of it ends up wiped off the highchair anyway. And every night you tell yourself you will grab a pouch instead, then hate not knowing what is really inside it.

How TinySpoon works

How TinySpoon works

It steams the food above the water instead of boiling it in it. Then it purees in the same jug, to whatever texture your baby is ready for.

The difference

Why TinySpoon, not pouches or a pot

Most people start with a pot and blender. The Baby Food Maker steams and blends in one jug instead.

Questions

Asked before you buy

What does the Baby Food Maker actually do?

It steams and blends in one jug. You add fresh veg or fruit, steam it soft, then blend to the texture your baby needs, all without dragging out a pot, a separate blender and a bowl. The digital control panel handles the timing, so you set it and walk away. That is two jobs done in one jug on the bench.

Does it only make smooth purees?

No. You control the texture, so you can make smooth first purees when your baby is starting solids, then blend for a shorter time to leave it chunkier as they move toward toddler meals. It steams and blends fruit and vegetables, so you can build up to new flavours as your baby grows. The same machine grows with them right through the weaning window.

Why steam instead of boil?

Boiling leaches water-soluble nutrients out of the food and tips them down the sink. Because the food sits above the water when steaming, more of those nutrients traditionally survive the cooking. Steaming is designed to keep veggies tasting fresh and bright in the puree your baby actually eats.

Is it too late to start if my baby is already six months in?

Not at all. Six months is exactly when most babies begin solids, so you are right on time. Weaning runs from around six months through the toddler years, so a food maker and feeding set earn their keep for well over a year. Even if your bub is eight or nine months and already on textured food, the steamer, blender and pouches still fit straight into your routine.

How often would I use the food maker?

Many parents use it most days through the weaning window. Plenty of parents batch cook on a Sunday, making several meals in one session and portioning them into the fridge or freezer. That way you cook less often through the week and still know every meal is fresh and homemade.

Will the food maker just end up shoved to the back of the cupboard?

Fair worry. The reason this one stays on the bench is that it does more than one job. It steams and blends in the same jug, so it replaces a pot and a separate blender and earns its space instead of doing one thing badly. Parents who batch cook reach for it again and again through the whole weaning window.
